Huawei and Telecom Egypt Join Forces to Boost 5G Infrastructure in Egypt

Huawei, a global leader in ICT solutions, has signed a cooperation agreement with Telecom Egypt-WE to accelerate Egypt’s transition to 5G. This collaboration positions Telecom Egypt as the first operator in Egypt and North Africa to deploy cutting-edge outdoor and indoor solutions, including Huawei’s BladeAAU technology and Digital Indoor System (DIS) 5G solutions.

BladeAAU technology integration, featuring high-bandwidth Massive MIMO, will optimize antenna space utilization while laying the groundwork for future 5G advancements. Meanwhile, the DIS 5G solution, equipped with Pico Radio (RBRU), enhances indoor connectivity using multiple frequency bands and V-MIMO technology. Initial tests have demonstrated outstanding performance, achieving speeds exceeding 300 Mbps. As Egypt expands its 5G network, Telecom Egypt prioritizes seamless coverage for high-value users, ensuring outdoor and indoor connectivity. BladeAAU MM 64T adoption enhances network capacity, while DIS 5G replaces traditional Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS) with superior efficiency and user experience.
