Vedanta Group to Invest Rs 1 Lakh Crore in Rajasthan, Boosting Zinc and Oil Production

Vedanta Group Chairman, Anil Agarwal on 9th December 2024 announced plans to invest Rs 1 lakh crores to enhance the production of zinc and oil, during the Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit.
Speaking at the event, Agarwal highlighted Vedanta’s existing Rs 1 lakh crore investment in Hindustan Zinc and Cairn India, and their plan to invest an additional Rs 1 lakh to increase zinc and oil production and generate employment for 5 lakh people. The focus will remain on boosting job opportunities and driving industrial development in the state.
As part of its initiatives, Vedanta is establishing a non-profit industrial park to foster entrepreneurship. The park will allow businesses to set up industries with investments ranging from Rs 5 crore to Rs 500 crore, creating a platform for innovation and growth.
Emphasizing the potential of Rajasthan, Anil Agarwal deemed it a land full of opportunities, with a capable workforce and a wealth of natural resources, including gold, silver, copper, oil, gas, and granite. He also commended the state’s double-engine government for its pro-business policies and lauded the new CM for prioritising development.
The Rising Rajasthan Summit, ongoing from Dec 9 to Dec 11, aims to attract global investors and establish Rajasthan as a leading hub for trade and industry. Rajasthan is certainly going to witness optimistic economic growth, with rising employment opportunities and development across sectors.
