Huntsman Expands Sustainable TPU Offerings with ISCC+ Certification for China and Germany Sites

Huntsman has announced that its Thermoplastic Polyurethane (TPU) manufacturing sites in Jinshan, China, and Osnabrück, Germany, have successfully secured ISCC+ (International Sustainability & Carbon Certification) Certification, globally recognized for its sustainability and supply chain traceability standards.

This achievement allows Huntsman to offer mass balance-certified TPU products, supporting its customers’ sustainability ambitions. The ISCC+ is a voluntary standard for companies producing recycled and bio-based materials. It ensures full traceability throughout the production process. The mass balance approach, a key methodology of ISCC+, enables tracking and attributing sustainability characteristics of recycled and bio-based materials within the supply chain.

Michael Quinn, Vice President, Global Elastomers at Huntsman Polyurethanes, emphasized the significance of the certification and mentioned that this milestone demonstrates their commitment to the circular economy and sustainable supply chains.

Huntsman’s Rotterdam and Wilton sites have held ISCC+ certification since 2023. With this latest expansion, the company strengthens its global leadership in sustainable TPU production, ensuring compliance with rigorous environmental, social and traceability standards.
